Ed has been involved with running for nearly 30 years, since qualifying for state and regional level competition, as a 1500 meter runner in age group 13-14, in the the early 80's. He has run 11 marathons with a personal best of 2:57. He is a certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning association, and is a fitness trainer at the YMCA. He studied chemistry and biochemistry at UCLA, and graduated with a bachelors in premedical studies.
His training philosophy is simple, the more you run, the better you do. But there is an art to getting the most quality out of the training you do, and how to do it in a way that minimizes injury. Ed will design a customized 8-16 week training program for you, for any race from 5K to the marathon. The program will take into account your previous training, races, and injuries. There is also weekly communication, so the schedule can be adjusted depending on how you are responding to the training.
